From our desks we can look out of our office windows and watch walkers take their first eager steps along the old railway line at the route’s start in Milngavie. Most will not realise they are passing just yards from Carers Link, the 1st Charity on the West Highland Way.
The West Highland Way is Scotland’s first official long distance route and links Milngavie to Fort William – a distance of 154km (96 miles) - from the northern outskirts of Glasgow, to the foot of Ben Nevis at Fort William.
Some of these walkers have already committed to raising much-needed funds to help us help Carers and you can read their stories. If you are thinking of walking the West Highland Way, perhaps you could help us help Carers by being sponsored to walk all - or even just part - of the route!
If you would like to chat with someone in Carers Link about your route please give us a call 0800 975 2131. Unfortunately we do not have the resources to help organise your walk, however we will do what we can to help. We have noted below some of the key sites that will be useful in planning your walk:
