We run several Carer Groups whereby Carers can regularly come together with others in a similar situation simply to chat, to share experiences or to hear relevant talks and pursue activities. Please click on the links below to read more about each group:

- Provide advice about starting up a group
- Help with finding somewhere suitable for the group to meet
- Assist with administration and publicity
- Provide access to an office computer and the internet
- Identify other Carers who may be interested
- Assist in seeking funding
Blether Group
If you would like the chance to meet other Carers then this could be what you’re looking for.
These support groups meets on a monthly basis and is open to any Carer who would welcome the opportunity to socialise, share information, offer mutual support, drink coffee, eat biscuits and have a ‘richt guid blether.’ Feel free to come along whenever you can.
Blether Milngavie meets on the second Friday of each month from 10.30am – 12.30pm and is open to all Carers. The group meets at our offices in Milngavie Enterprise Centre.
Blether Kirkintilloch meets on the fourth Monday of each month from 10.30am – 12.30pm in the Kirkintilloch Baptist Church, Townhead, Kirkintilloch.

This ‘light-hearted’group offers support, information and advice, giving you the opportunity to meet with other carers in similar situations, share experiences and occasionally the chance to enjoy some activities or outings.
“A support group can be a great help. There is nothing like meeting with people who know exactly what you are going through”.
The Dementia Carer Group meets from 12 noon – 2:00pm on the 3rd Thursday of every month in our offices in Milngavie Enterprise Centre. Light lunch is provided.
De Café is open to Carers of people with Dementia, and to those for whom they care. It is a chance to come along for a coffee and a chat together with others in a similar situation and is held in the Baptist Church, Kirkintilloch from 1.30pm – 3pm on the last Friday of the month. This group aims to provide Carers of those with poor mental health with the opportunity to meet and share experiences in a social situation. whilst having the chance to learn about coping mechanisms and to hear input from professionals who work in the mental health field. We have speakers some months, while other months are purely social.
The group is generally on the third Thursday of the month from 7 to 9, although depending on activity this may change. The location varies throughout East Dunbartonshire please contact Carers Link for more information.

Meeting on the first Tuesday of the month from 1pm –3.30pm, this group is for male Carers and former Carers who live or care for someone in East Dunbartonshire. There are sometimes additional events that are date dependent and which run in addition to the normal meeting times.
Due to the end of the funding for the Men's group; the group now meets at Carers Link offices in Milngavie either for a chat or as a meeting point to visit a place of interest in the local area. Group members can drop in for all or part of the time if the meeting is for a coffee and a chat, but if we are going to an arranged event then you will need to let us know in advance that you are coming so that we can arrange suitable transport for the group. After Caring Coffee and Chat
If you have lost someone that you were caring for, why not come along to the After Caring Coffee & Chat afternoon to share experiences and to meet new people. We meet on the first Thursday of the month in the Carers Link meeting room between 1.30pm and 3.30pm. We look forward to seeing you.
For Carers of Adults with a Learning Disability
Please come along and join us for lunch at this light-hearted group (run in association with the Local Area Co-ordinatiors in East Dunbartonshire) that offers support, advice and information, and provides an opportunity to meet with other Carers in similar situations and share experiences. Meeting in Kirkintilloch on the first Wednesday of each month from 12noon - 2pm, the group is aimed at any Carer who looks after an adult with a learning disability, whether they live at home, in residential care or supported living.
