Often challenging behaviour can be the result of misunderstanding the needs of those we care for. This session will look at how the impact of caring can affect those around us. Open to all Carers – please contact Jon if you would like more information.
A look at what is meant by mental health, the various disorders and issues surrounding this often misunderstood subject. This session will also examine the stigma and public attitudes to mental health and debunk some of the common misconceptions. Worrying about the safety of the person for whom you’re caring can be a significant cause of stress for Carers. Telecare is a suite of devices that can allow people with a physical disability, learning disability or dementia to live more independent lives. Whilst not intended as a replacement for caring, it can provide some peace of mind.
Designed to help the many Carers who give physical help on a daily basis to the person they care for, we are hoping to organise an Awareness in Moving and Handling course in the autum, designed to support and empower Carers to feel more confident about the help they give.
Prolonged stress can have a major effect on our lives and health. These two sessions will explore what stress is and ways to mitigate its impact.
