After carrying out an assessment, the needs of you and the person you care for will be compared against the eligibility criteria of East Dunbartonshire Council. A copy of the eligibility criteria used can be obtained from the Social Work Headquarters by telephoning 0141 355 2200
Although both the Carers Assessment and the Community Care Assessment will be free, there may be charges for subsequent services. As such the assessment of the cared-for person may have included questions about their money and finances. More details of the charging policy of East Dunbartonshire Council can also be obtained from Social Work Headquarters by telephoning 0141 355 2200.
Charges for services depend on a wide range of individual circumstances. For more details on what may be involved please contact us.
If either Assessment or Support Plan identifies a service that is then not provided, you are also entitled to know why such a decision has been made. A service that has been identified as needed, cannot then be refused or withdrawn without a reassessment being carried out. Although resources of the local authority are one factor taken into consideration, they are not the only ones. If you are unhappy about such decisions or any aspect of the service, you may wish to make a complaint.
