Carers Week with Carers Link

Come and meet the Carers Link team in Carers Week at the Kirkintilloch Integrated Care Centre on 14th, 15th, 17th & 18th June, when they will be on hand to provide advice and information between 10am and 2pm each day.

This year, the theme of national Carers Week is ‘A life of my own’ and aims to raise awareness of the things in life that many of us take for granted, yet Carers may often miss out on. Going on holiday or out for a meal, attending family celebrations or even just relaxing in a long, hot bath – for many Carers these are not easily achievable because of their caring commitments to a family member or friend.

Through focusing attention on the basic needs of Carers to have the opportunity to take a break when they need it, as well as having access to relevant and practical information and support at times of crisis, it is hoped that more Carers will be helped towards having a life of their own in the future.

Carers Link’s ‘Caring with Confidence’ programme runs courses and information sessions for Carers throughout East Dunbartonshire, covering topics such as Emergency First Aid, Stress Management and Foundation Computer Skills. Sessions running in Carers Week include Safe Medicines and Confidence and Assertiveness and are open to all Carers.
