Thanks to 3-year funding from Comic Relief, we seek someone motivated, enthusiastic & committed to making a difference to those who become Carers later in life by developing their skills in Computing & ITC.

The aim of this new service is to increase the confidence of Older Carers, assist in developing new skills and abilities in self-advocacy by learning how to use computers for personal enjoyment, reduce isolation, access information and to save time within caring. 

This service specifically aims to empower Carers through providing training and support on a 1-to-1 basis from peer volunteers.  The training delivered will focus on how the computer and internet can empower through access to information and services and demonstrate how to use the internet to save valuable time through accessing online services such as shopping, banking or prescriptions.  Learning use of webcam, e-mail & Facebook enables communication with friends, family or other Carers , and the support of a volunteer peer provides friendship and encouragement.

This full-time post (35 hours) will have responsibility for the design & delivery of computer/ITC training, service development, working with volunteers and building relationships with other service providers. 

Successful applicant will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme.  Experience of caring is also desirable.
