Current Consultations

NEW!

Have your view on the new Mental Health Strategy!

The Scottish Government is currently consulting on a New Mental Health Strategy for Scotland. This strategy describes the Scottish Government’s plans and commitments as to how it will go about planning for mental health care, improvement and prevention work in Scotland, over the next 4 years.

The Scottish Government has put together a questionnaire which you can find at the following link:

Section 7 within the Outcomes and questions 18 and 19 specifically focus on the carer.

Once the consultation is complete at the end of January and the new Scottish Mental Health Strategy agreed and finalised, the strategy will then become one of the most important tools which will affect how mental health care and improvement services are planned and delivered in Scotland. This will affect decisions not just at a national levels but a local East Dunbartonshire level as well.

A number of local organisations – including Carers Link – are therefore working together to make it easier for you and the person you support to make your views known. We also have a ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ sheet which you can download that will explain more about the strategy and how you can be involved.

We would also like to invite you to ‘drop-in’ to Carers Link at any time between 12 noon and 7pm in the evening on Thursday 19th January 2012. You can drop-in for 10 minutes or stay for a cup of coffee; however this is a chance to have your point of view or comments written down. A member of staff will be available to answer any questions you may have.

If you cannot make this date, you can of course call in at any of the other venues/dates listed on the Frequently Asked Questions sheet. From 12th January, you can also e-mail your comments to fiona@carerslink.org.uk or telephone 0800 975 2131.
