Local Carers Strategy

The Joint Strategy for Carers (2007-2010) has been written to inform service providers and service planners with an overview of issues affecting Carers in East Dunbartonshire and how these are being addressed within the Local Community Plan and associated strategic documents and groups. It contains detailed action plans incorporating performance indicators and local improvement targets.  Just click the image to the side to read the whole strategy or follow the links below to access sections of the document.

The Strategy has also been written to provide Carers with information on your rights as Carers and the services available to support you and the people that you provide care for. If, however, you would like further information on the support available to you now and how to access it, please contact Carers Link or use the links on the left-hand side of the screen for more information.

Many Carers have been actively involved in developing and writing this document. You may already have contributed without realising! There is still opportunity to provide your comments or suggestions, and we are always keen for Carers to join the Joint Carers Working Group that works within the Community Planning Structures for East Dunbartonshire.

Also of interest is the Joint Community Care Plan for East Dunbartonshire. Carers Link has been actively involved in ensuring that the views of Carers have been included in the new Plan and welcomes the prominence that Carers’ issues were given during this process.  You can now read both the Joint Community Care Plan which was launched on 25th June 2008 and the summary of the comments made during the consultation.

The Carers Strategy should be used by both Carers and by people in statutory, health or voluntary agencies that work with Carers. We have made every effort to keep it straightforward and free from 'jargon', and have included a Glossary of Common Terms and Abbreviations.

You can download the Complete Version of the Strategy by clicking on the image above. However, as it is a large document we have also provided it in Sections below. If you would like a printed copy, please contact us.
